Our father died in his early fifties.
Most of us then were quite young - me, fresh out of college and just starting to find my niche in the professional world.
He was no longer there when we started leading our own lives. Nowhere near us as we tried living up to his name.
In his absence, every little victory we celebrate, is incomplete. The question that always floats around is : "how would have he felt were he here?"
He is sorely missed.
(Nat King Cole's Stardust was among his favorites. He even bought a record to sing along with)

Happy Father's Day!!!
Don't worry... He still loves you.
He is gone from this world, but I believe that he is up there watching over you and being so proud of what you have accomplished and what you have become. He is there Reo and you can still sing to him or play for him his favorite song.
Richard: Thanks.
Gina: It's difficult living with what-could-have-beens, but given things we cannot control, there's no recourse but to learn accepting the present. We have somehow moved on, but celebrations like Father's Day irresistably opens the box of memories. Ganun lang talaga..
