3G iPhone Launched in Japan Today

A long queue of mixed Japanese and foreigners greeted me as got out of my train station early this morning. As I checked, it turned out to be directed towards the Softbank office, the mobile telco handling the sales of the iPhone in Japan.

Yup, the next generation iPhone is officially on the shores of the Rising Sun Landia, far ahead than many other countries (only New Zealand launched a little ahead). And the reception, based on the line of eager customers, seems very good. Apparently, many of them have camped out in front of the store since early morning today.

How much is the "in" gadget being sold here? Very affordable at about Yen 23,000 (USD 225.00). That I can say with conviction knowing that Softbank charged me Yen 30,000 for the Samsung phone I’m currently using! Bwisit!

As long as I can text and I can still call anybody on my cellphone, ok na kahit luma at kupas na.

It must have been launched concurrently in different countries kasi I just read din in the paper how some people lined up here for it, and only to find out that it took a while to be able to get activated/connected daw.
