Why Noynoy?

- Because as a result of the shenanigans of the Estrada and Arroyo dispensations, our country is now wallowing in deep moral shit - where the corrupt is exalted and the righteous scorned. We now need someone whose integrity is intact, whose morals is perched on high ground. Among those offering themselves for the presidency, Noynoy leads the pack as to purity and strength of character.

- Because Noynoy, while unassuming, is just as capable and competent as the other hopefuls. He is a seasoned public servant (9 years congressman, 3 years senator) and is therefore not a stranger to governance, nor is he naive to political maneuverings. His pronouncements during today's presscon showed that he knows his bearings and will easily find his way through the maze of the presidency.

- Because Noynoy belongs to the Liberal Party, a party whose ideology was shaped and defined by colorful history. Of all the present-day political groupings, the Liberal Party is one of those that survived the tests of pac-man politics, choosing to stand by the ideals of its founders instead of embracing the dark mantle of the powers-that-be. Noynoy's ideology is therefore clear and well-entrenched.

- Because Noynoy is the best person to represent the opposition. Being opposition does not simply mean supreme hatred to the present administration - those who profess to be must be the anti-thesis of the Arroyos and their cohorts. See the list of presidentiables again and I bet you'll see the same wolves but only in different garbs.

and finally ...

- Because with Noynoy, we see hope. With him, "Pwede na uling mangarap".

Nerissa: If there's one dream I have for Capul, it is for us to go back to our old way of voting for people we truly believe in - regardless of political affiliation or the amount of money or promise of bounty we receive. I plan to show this to our kababayans by campaigning for Noynoy on my own account. Bisan amazerox hamok ako mga posters o leaflets. Basta ga ko aglaum bulig si mga leaders na Noynoy. Ruyag ko hamok ag pakulaw suporta. I hope we can ask our friends to do the same.

we are scared that if villar wins, we will end up with another corrupt government since he wasted so much money and consequently might use the position to regain what he lost.. While if Noynoy wins, no worries because he is brought up with great values. Question is... If Noynoy swears "hindi ako magnanakaw.." How can he assure us that people who would be working under his leadership will not be corrupt as well? Is he the kind of person who can motivate even the most greedy of politicians? Does he have what it takes to totally prevent corruption? i don't think so.. What happened to the cojuangcos and hacienda luisita? was he able to take control? Noynoy can certainly be a good symbol of Hope, being the son of two heroes.. But do we really need an extrinsic motivation to change? Does it always have to be the president? I just happen to be a scholar of villar...raised by a poor family also.. so even as a student I already saw where the people's taxes go, I benefited from your money through Villar. And now, as I am driving my own car from cavite to makati, I can easily say that somehow, my taxes allowed me to travel from my house to makati in just 1 hour. I would rather vote Gordon than Noynoy.. So there you go...
