Odaiba Revisited

This neophyte, unteacheable-but-still-trying-hard-to-learn "photographer" decided to join a small group of masters for some night shots of Odaiba. I knew I'll felt pressured by the urge to belong, but I honestly haven't seen much of the place, so I thought I could always claim that my primary purpose was just to gallivant around anyway.

True enough, I didn't know how to capture the essence of night photography. Everytime I see my companions' elegant produce, I can't help but drool in desperate envy. Theirs told stories, mine were mere scratches in a canvass. Add to the insult the fact that my camera threw tantrums - its auto focus feature seemed to have malfunctioned (or was it just me sour graping?). I wanted to auction off my camera right there and then. :-)

And since this is my site and I am convinced I still am entitled to litter it with the crap that evidence my futile attempts to join the major league, I am posting below some of the scenes I captured while waiting for dusk to fall. My apologies if they bore you and will lull you to sleep.

Okay, let me join you .....z z z z z z z z z z z....

I like your night shots... very nice.
And your street shots are funny. Always funny to look at photographers...

You actually did an excellent job.... imagine if you are using a film based camera instead of the digital camera. The digital medium is one that allows you to check right away what you took. You have to bracket your shots and experiment until you get your desired results.

Beautiful pics just the same. Time for you to invest in a tripod for night photography. :)

nakaka pressure talga if you see great results from other people. but i think you're still doing a good job. practice lang naman katapat nyan.

although i think you might be doing this na, i might as well tell it pa rin. hehe. sabi mo nga, the other people from your group have really nice pictures. you might want to ask them paano nila ni-conceptualize yung shot. or bakit yun ang napili nilang angle. syempre tips na rin on when to prioritize yung aperture, depth of field or exposure. kahit naman mga pros they still learn new things, kya tanong lang nang tanong.

you might want to invest in a good photography book. yung hindi lang puro technicalities, meron din about concept. hehe

while trying to master your photography skills, shoot pa rin nang shoot. that's one advantage of a digital lsr.
hay, pag-iipunan ka yan. hehe. gusto ko rin bumili ng DSLR :9

i think there's nothing wrong with your photos...they're great! BTW, the photos of lensmen (second to the last) look like they were surveyors surveying a piece of land with tripod and all...hehehe (dagat pala)

uy, on the contrary, those are very interesting shots.

As they all say, practice makes perfect, and it looks like malapit nang ma-perpek =)
